It seems that this still occurs even after the installation of third party image management software. The fix for this is to disable the Windows Picture Viewer and Fax Viewer. Do the following only if you want ACDSee to be the default viewer. Go to the Start Menu and select Run. Type in the following line: regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll Click OK. Go into ACDSee. Go to the Tools Menu and Select File Associations. Click on the 'Remove All' button. Click on the 'Select All' button. Click OK. Close ACDSee. Restart the computer.
