Pero a pesar de poder compartir carpetas o libretas, en Dropbox y Evernote respectivamente, necesitaba un servicio que mejorase el trabajo colaborativo. Por tanto, ¿qué mejor opción que Google Docs? La única pega, o mejor dicho manía que tengo, es que no quiero usar mi navegador principal. Es decir, no quiero que en Safari junto a las páginas web que voy consultando tenga el documento de Google Docs en una de sus pestañas o ventana nueva. Así que tenía dos opciones, acostumbrarme o buscar alternativas. Me decanté por la segunda.La primera y obvia, a la vez de sencilla, era usar un segundo navegador. Google Chrome es una gran opción y se nota que está optimizado para los servicios del buscador. Pero no me contenté, seguí buscando y encontré dos aplicaciones, una para iOS y otra para OS X, que son las que actualmente estoy usando. RocketDocs RocketDocs es un cliente para Google Docs, compatible con Google Drive. Tras la última actualización se ha añadido soporte para la autorización en dos pasos de Google, soporte para Google Apps y el nuevo sistema de autorización OAuth2. La ventajas de RocketDocs frente a usar un navegador es que vamos a tener una aplicación independiente, para mí útil porque cierro con frecuencia las ventanas y no me gustaría, pese a que los documentos se guardan automáticamente, tener que volver a abrir, seleccionar el documento, etc… Funcioa con Google Drive, en modo a Pantalla completa, soporta todos los atajos de teclado de Google Docs además de los suyos propios.Todo de momento pinta bien pero ¿en qué falla? Pues en lo mismo que la mayoría de aplicaciones que he podido encontrar. Necesita internet para conectar de modo que no podremos acceder offline para consultar los documentos y mucho menos editarlos. Esto hace que los 4,99€ que vale la aplicación resulten excesivos. Sobre todo porque podemos conseguir lo mismo con opciones como Fluid. De todas forma están trabajando en futuras mejoras y esperemos que poder consultar los documentos offline sea una de ellas.
